Drag History Workshop & Movie Screening

Saturday, June 22nd from 1-3pm at MakeShift Art Space (306 Flora St.)
Facilitated by Make.Shift’s Education Director Beth Girma. FREE!

In the first hour of the workshop, Beth will facilitate a teach-in on drag history, starting from the period of chattel slavery in which gender expression was an immense form of resistance for enslaved Black people, to the modern-day legislative repression that queer/trans people are facing. We will then screen the ICONIC movie “Paris is Burning.” Snacks will be provided!
