Internships

Make.Shift offers internships in four main program areas: the all-ages venue (live sound, A/V, and event production), the gallery, KZAX 94.9 radio, and outreach (outreach, development, graphic design, & archiving).

We ask that all interns commit to at least 12 weeks at about 5-10 hours per week (please see internship descriptions below for specific requirements). If you’re not able to commit to an internship, but still want to get involved, please consider volunteering!

Before joining Make.Shift as an intern, we ask that you attend a volunteer orientation. See below for upcoming orientation dates:

Upcoming volunteer Orientations:

Saturday January 18th, 2025 from 4-6pm

To Apply

  1. If you haven’t attended an orientation yet, make sure to sign up for the next one!

2. Complete the Make.Shift Internship Application form.

Make.Shift staff will be in touch within 1-2 weeks if we have a spot available. If the internship you apply for is full, we’ll be in touch to let you know when a spot becomes available.

If you have any questions related to internship timelines, paid opportunities through one of our job training partners, or questions about college credit, email outreach@makeshiftartspace.org

Paid Opportunities

We understand that not everyone can afford to commit to an unpaid internship, which is why we partner with other non-profits to provide paid positions to those who qualify. If you are interested in temporary paid internships at Make.Shift, first reach out to one of the following organizations to see if you qualify. Let them know if you are interested in Make.Shift specifically!
