Hourly Music Practice Space

Our green room doubles as an hourly practice space for local bands and musicians. You can bring your own instruments or use our backline. The practice space includes a full drum kit, PA system, and several guitars, basses, keyboards, amps. More fun things coming soon!

  • Rates: $20/hour or 50% off for Pass Holders (sliding scale pricing available)

  • Hours: Sunday-Thursday, 5:00pm-11:00pm

  • PLEASE NOTE: Practice time can only be scheduled 48 or more hours in advance. If you have a regular practice time you’d like to secure, we encourage you to book early.

Private Venue Rentals

Need a large room to host a birthday party, teach a class, host a poetry reading, film screening, or host another private event - or even a music festival? Our venue space is available for private rentals.

Our pricing varies based on staff required for your event, amount of time needed, and time of day.

Month-to-Month Studios

Make.Shift is home to 8 private art studios and 11 band practice spaces*, rented on a month-to-month lease. Size, rates, and availability vary.

*Practice hours for bands are 5PM - midnight, 7 days a week. There is 24-hour access for load-in, load-out, etc., but amplified music is only allowed between 5PM & midnight due to the city’s downtown noise ordinance.

If you are interested in renting a studio on a monthly basis, please complete the Make.Shift Tenant Application (you can access it by clicking the button below!) Once you complete that application, you are automatically added to the waitlist. When a studio becomes available, we will email the waitlist to announce scheduled group viewings of the space. From there, the rental process is first-come, first-serve for interested applicants.

PLEASE NOTE: Because we receive so many inquiries and only have a limited number of studios, we cannot respond to all studio-related emails. If you don’t hear back, don’t worry— you can rest assured that you’ve been automatically added to the waitlist and we’ll be in touch when we have a spot open!
