Saturday, December 16th, 1-4pm at 306 Flora St (MakeShift Art Space).
Event Overview: Plants are an integral part of human well-being. The popularity and access to plants have exploded over the last few years as more people look to connect to the natural environment. This workshop will explore how Moné Designs uses a transdisciplinary approach to plant design, combining art, plants, and 3D printing. A live 3D printing demonstration will be featured in addition to showcasing artistic, functional planters, watering cans, and vases made from plant-based materials. Attendees will select containers and create their plant art pieces.
About Us: Moné Designs was founded by local artist Mickey Blake. We are 3D printing with plant-based materials such as corn, sugarcane, and algae to demonstrate the replacement of fossil-fuel-derived plastics in the plant design industry and develop robust reuse and recycling infrastructure. By embracing innovation, we aim to bridge the gap between where we are now and what a sustainable future could look like.
All ages and experience levels are welcome!
Materials are included in the cost of the workshop.
No one is turned away for lack of funds. Additionally, sliding scale pricing is available.
