Jessyca is the Executive Director at Make.Shift Art Space. Before this role, Jessyca worked for over ten years in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault services. This workshop will cover the basics of trauma-informed communication, skills for fostering empowerment, and exercises for taking care of yourself while supporting others. The second half of this workshop will feature a Q&A panel with Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Services (DVSAS) and the WWU Counseling and Wellness Center. A portion of the proceeds from this workshop will go towards supporting DVSAS.

This workshop is a part of the Scene Safety Workshop Series. Participants can sign up for individual workshops for $10/each or $25 for the whole series. If you purchase this item, you are ONLY buying a ticket to the workshop on April 22nd.

These workshops are open to anyone wanting to learn about creating a safer and more accountable community. It will focus on building skills for throwing safer DIY events, house shows, and concerts at all-ages and 21+ venues. We want everyone in the music and art scene to feel prepared and supported when harmful things happen.
