Plants for Self & Community Care

  • Make.Shift Art Space 306 Flora St Bellingham, WA, 98225 (map)

Allying with Plants for Self & Community Care. Saturday, February 22nd from 1-3pm at MakeShift Art Space (306 Flora St.) $15, NOTAFLOF & sliding-scale pricing available.

In this discussion and experience-based workshop, we will explore how our relationships with plant kin can support us in our movements to resist capitalism and colonialism.

Participants will leave with an understanding of how to prepare effective infusions of herbal tea, and practice sitting mindfully with plants and utilizing our inherent perceptive abilities to engage with medicinal herbs. We will also go over several specific plants and the gifts they offer us and our movement spaces: including their traditional and historical uses, biochemical properties, and applications in first aid, supporting the nervous system, and more. This is appropriate for all skill levels, and especially welcomes those who are herb-curious! Bring your questions, experiences and hopes!

This workshop is a part of the Strategic Resistance Series: a workshop series to skill up your communities living under the oppressive presidential administrations of the past, present, and future. Click here to register for all the workshops happening throughout the month.
