May 2020 Virtual Art Walk for Make.Shift Gallery: Children’s Art Walk: “Beyond My Wildest Dreams”
Children’s Art Walk is a cherished Bellingham tradition. This year even with everything we are currently enduring in the world we could not bring ourselves to call it off. We are excited to present our first-ever virtual Kid’s Art Walk tour. Once again we partnered with Cedar Tree and Samish Woods Montessori’s and had their 4th through 6th graders pick the most imaginative dream in their dream journals to inspire their creations. All of these works will be showcased on our website during May along with stories to describe their work. We found local and regional artists to pair up with each student and reinterpret their work in their own medium. In total this show features over 100 artists between the students and the working artists to create a dreamy and eclectic overview of work.

About Make.shift: Make.Shift Art Space is a 501 ©3 nonprofit DIY venue dedicated to providing a space for all-ages art and music in Bellingham. The 8,000-square-foot space includes 21 studios, an award-winning gallery, a live music performance space and a low-power radio station KZAX 94.9. We are an all-ages space dedicated to a policy of no booze, no drugs, no jerks.
Accessibility Information: Make.Shift strives to create a safe and inviting space for all to enjoy and utilize. There are two ramps at Make.Shift: one at the front door that provides access to the gallery, office, upstairs studios, and bathrooms. All of these doorways are 3’ wide. The other leads to the basement and provides access to the stage and main concert area. This doorway is 3’ 5”.
